Pick up them dry (Iranian) bones!
Some footage from the Discovery Channel about the lost army of Cambyses in the Egyptian desert. Man, just look at all those bones!

On a side note, I do hope my entries about scientific and scholarly discoveries are drawing as much attention as the freaky stuff I find like Giant Carnival Wiener Slide. Sometimes I like to exercise the few brains I've got by talking about something intelligent, you know! ;)

This is the kind of find that makes an archaeologist all warm and fuzzy on the inside. It's as good as when that French diver/archaeologist believed he may have found the Pharos (the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria) or the burial at Sutton Hoo in Eastern England back in the 70's.

But wasn't it creepy just seeing that pile of skulls?

I'd say pretty creepy, maybe as creepy as finding those dried out but nearly perfectly-preserved mummies they find in Peru's highlands all the time.

Actually, I find this story quite fascinating.
